Product designer in a cross-functional team

SkiResorts is an iOS/Android app that brings slope essentials together: resort info, lift and trail status, weather, ride tracking, and trip history. I lead the product—from audience research and flows through releases, support, and ongoing updates

Goal

Cover the core ski-trip journey in one mobile product without hopping between services

Stay fast in winter: fewer steps, larger controls, clear navigation even in the cold

Problem

Before SkiResorts, one trip often meant several apps—resort data, ride logging, and memories lived apart

Typical mobile UI ignores slope context—long flows and tiny targets are hard in motion and cold

Result

After the redesign, the audience grew several times over (per product data post-release)

Laid groundwork for growth: ride tracking and social features; friend lists in development; planned resort onboarding in admin and in-app purchase monetization

01

One mobile journey for a day on the mountain

Task

Design a product flow that covers rider jobs in one app: prep, activity tracking, and personal history

What I did

Researched audience and competitors; defined the core JTBD—fast resort info and ride logging without extra steps

Structured the product around frequent user paths: resorts, slope conditions, day/time tracking, trip history, and notes

Connected flows so ride data and trip context land in the profile and support progress insights

Outcome

Users handle trip essentials in one app instead of switching services

Ride history is structured—where, when, and how active

A stable base for regular updates without rebuilding core logic

Core screens: home, resort, and elevation weather

02

UX for cold and fast interactions

Task

Make the mobile UI work on the slope when decisions must be fast and conditions are cold

What I did

Shortened critical flows to the minimum steps for status or actions

Tuned UI for field use: large buttons, clear emphasis, predictable hierarchy, obvious states

Prioritized geolocation and quick access to key info to lower cognitive load in motion and cold

Outcome

Flows feel faster and simpler in real riding contexts

Cold-weather use improved—fewer mis-taps and fewer redundant hops

Post-launch, the audience grew several times over (per product metrics)
